Air ambulance called after man suffers 'slash injury' in Manchester attack
A teenager has been arrested
A man suffered a slash injury to his face after being attacked in Manchester today (Wednesday, June 11). The incident happened in the Wythenshawe area.
Police confirmed that they were alerted at about 3.15pm after reports of an assault. An air ambulance was sent to the scene.
The incident happened in Nearbrook Road, Benchill, off Woodhouse Lane. The victim was taken to hospital with injuries to his face believed to have been caused by a knife.
Haveley Hey Community School, primary, is on the road where the attack happened.
A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding. The victim's injuries are serious but not life threatening.
The scene was cordoned off by police for a short while but has now re-opened.
