Blossoms star Joe Donovan tied the knot
It was a gorgeous Peak District wedding for Blossoms rock star Joe Donovan as he tied the knot with his fashionista love Sophia Rosemary Barrese at the weekend.
The Stockport stars headed into the hills for their vintage-style wedding in Hayfield, Derbyshire.
They were joined by family and friends as well as Joe's Blossoms bandmates for the occasion.
Sophia is the owner of vintage shop Top of the Town Vintage in Stockport's Underbanks, and so naturally her dresses on the day were inspired by her love for retro fashion.
She was hailed a "woodland princess" by guests, wearing a floral garland and her hair styled in loose waves.
She wore two vintage dresses on the day, one a 1970s Christina Stambolian gown and then later changing into a 1969 lace Biba wedding dress.
Meanwhile Blossoms drummer Joe continued the vintage theme in a retro beige flared suit.
The wedding party unfolded at Upper House in Hayfield, an ancient farm estate dating back to the 14th century which is now a popular wedding venue.
The couple took over a vaulted medieval barn inside with trestle tables adorned with locally-sourced wild flowers from Didsbury's Flower Lounge.
The estate boasts rolling views of the Peak District countryside all around it, where the couple were able to take some of their wedding pictures.
Sophia took to instagram to share beautiful photos of their special day. In her post she wrote: "7th June 2025- The day I married my best friend".
Joe's Blossoms bandmates, including frontman Tom Ogden, were at the wedding - and Tom even performed a memorable acoustic ditty during the best man speech about how the couple got together.
There are close ties between the two as Tom is also Joe's brother-in-law. He married Joe's sister Katie Donovan in a gorgeous vintage-style wedding held at Stockport Town Hall in August 2021.
The wedding at the weekend came four years after Joe's romantic proposal to Sophia - just after entertaining 15,000 fans on stage at the AO Arena in Manchester.
The couple first met at one of Blossoms' earliest gigs at Club Academy some nine years ago now.
The band, known for hits like Charlemagne and Your Girlfriend, have had huge success since blasting onto the music scene in 2016.
Their self-titled debut album shot straight to the top of the UK charts in 2016, and their most recent album, Gary, became their fourth chart-topping album at the end of 2024.
This year the band have a packed tour schedule across the summer, before a European tour in February 2026.
They'll be back in action at the weekend when they play at Huddersfield's John Smith's Stadium alongside Stereophonics, before a huge gig at Delamere Forest the following weekend.
They will also be heading to play at the Glastonbury festival in July.
