Dozens of flowers and tributes line street as community stunned by stabbing of boy, 14
A murder investigation is underway after Ibrahima Seck was killed
Flowers, balloons and tributes are lining the street where a teenage boy was fatally stabbed in north Manchester.
A community is in mourning following the death of budding boxer Ibrahima Seck, who was stabbed in New Moston on Sunday evening (June 9).
The 14-year-old was attacked outside the Fairway Inn, on Broadway, before he ran to nearby Nevin Road seeking help.
He was rushed to hospital, where he tragically died from his injuries. Three boys have been arrested on suspicion of murder - two aged 14 and one aged 16.
A 14-year-old girl and a 37-year-old woman were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Outside the Fairway Inn this morning (Tuesday), dozens of bouquets of flowers have been placed on the ground.
A large group of schoolchildren had gathered at the scene earlier today, while others paid their respects throughout Monday.
Heartbreaking written tributes have been left for the teenager from a community which has been rocked by Ibrahima's death.
One message said: "Rest in Power young man. Your family will miss you as the world will."
Another said: "To Ibrahima, a beautiful boy. Our hearts go out to you and your family in this time of deep sorrow."
Members of Ibrahima's family embraced at the scene on Monday as they struggled to come to terms with the devastating loss of their son.
Tears were shed and passers-by offered their heartfelt condolences.
William Crolla, younger brother of former boxing world champion Anthony, told the Manchester Evening News that Ibrahima was a regular at the Fox boxing gym in Limeside, Oldham.
"He was a cheeky chap, a really nice kid," he said.
"He was always smiling, always laughing. I grew up on that street [where Ibrahima was killed], my mum's house was a minute away.
"Stuff like this was unheard of 10 years ago when I was growing up. Now people are carrying knives like it's part of the uniform.

"They think it's a game, but a knife, it's the exact same as a gun. Something like this affects so many lives."
In a heartbreaking tribute, his family called for justice for Ibrahima, asking: "Why would anyone do this to him? He does nothing wrong."
They added: "Ibrahima was a well-liked young boy. He was funny, caring, and hardworking. He was our best friend... he was so smiley and always made everybody laugh. He was a good boy."
Greater Manchester Police has been approached for an update on the investigation.
