Car set on fire as police respond to outbreak of 'serious disorder' in Salford

A car has been set on fire and another vehicle badly damaged as police respond to an outbreak of 'serious disorder' in Salford this afternoon.
One person has been arrested and a dispersal order has been put in place around Lower Broughton Road, said GMP. Video from the scene shows a car in flames as a large group of youths gather on a grass embankment.
Another clip shows several masked motorbike riders milling in the street. Witnesses said a group of around 50-60 people could be seen in the area, with bricks and stones strewn across the street.

Earlier wheelie bins had been placed across the road in an apparent barricade. Nearby a badly damaged Fiat 500 with a smashed windscreen has been abandoned on the pavement.
Video seen by the Manchester Evening News shows a car performing a handbrake turn in the street and driving through gardens.
A witness said: "There is a Fiat 500 which has been completely smashed in. It's windows have been stoved in.
"The police are here, but they're circling around at the moment. At a rough guess I'd say there are about 50-60 people hanging about, but a lot of residents are also coming out."
Several police cars, including the tactical aid unit, have been called to Lower Broughton Road, with the police helicopter also reportedly flying overhead earlier.
In a statement GMP Salford said: "Officers are currently dealing with serious disorder on Lower Broughton Road in Salford and there is a dispersal order in place. Behaviour of this nature will not be tolerated and we will respond accordingly.
"We have made an arrest on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and one of our vehicles has been damaged."
