Coronation Street fans baffled by inside new Platt family house as they say 'next'
As fans of the ITV soap know, No.8 Coronation Street was destroyed in a blaze started by David Platt's step-son Max Turner
Coronation Street fans have been sharing what is baffling them about the Platt's revamped family home, while some were left asking when the can see a couple's potential new abode on the street.
As fans of the ITV soap know, No.8 Coronation Street was destroyed in a blaze started by David Platt's step-son Max Turner earlier this year.
The teen carried out a botched plan to help his step-dad with his desperate money troubles as they found themselves targeted by gangster Harvey Gaskell.
After David and Shona discovered what he'd done, they tried to cover for him and planned for Max to do a runner, but he ended up handing himself into the police after his distinctive hoodie that linked him to the fire was found.
He was later sentenced to six and a half years behind bars, but was moved to a prison in Scotland due to Harvey's threats, marking an exit for actor Paddy Bever.
Before it was seen on-screen, Corrie given the first look at the new Platt family home in a social media post. Taking to Instagram, those behind the show's social media shared a string of pictures and said: "A peek at some of the details inside a newly refurbished No.8!"
They added some comments from production designer Rosie, who gave an insight into the newly renovated property. She said: "The set was fully rebuilt following the fire over a three-month period and with a real focus on David, Shona and Lily and their style and taste and with a definite influence of Audrey in some of the dressings with her now residing in the annex!
"The set is more open plan than before for a more modern way of living for the family with a contemporary breakfast bar and industrial influenced kitchen. There is an eclectic mix of household dressings and artwork reflecting the personalities in the family.
"With a fun twist the dining table converts into a pool table as David attempts to make his mark on the property. There are modern geometrics, dark greys and tan and orange tones."
Rosie added: "I liked the humour that David has finally got rid of Gail to be landed with Audrey in the annex who has insisted on her own recliner, her own front door (now off the hallway) and also bringing along her sentimental and very large portrait of the late Alf which has pride of place on the new set.
"David the dog is not overlooked either with some interesting artwork & touches focused on his importance in the family too! I love the Vin Diesel the weasel has also made it into the family home after being missing for a number of years."
And the comments came flooding in, with some unable to help pointing out some confusing details.@inzspire_interiordesign said: "Wondering about the furniture placement given the size of the downstairs space!"

Theresa Stine posted on Facebook: "I want to know we're all the space as come from. The Platts house never looked that big." Lyndsey Houghton asked: "Where's Gail's under stairs cupboard gone?!"
Jo Goldsmith shared: "I thought the Annexe went off of the kitchen??!!!!! That’s where David & Shona always went!" Maria Jane added: "It’s treble the size!"
Others, however, are wanting to see another house on the cobbles - even though it hasn't been confirmed Lisa Swain and Carla Connor will be moving in.
