Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has surprised fans with his own behind-the-scenes makeover as he enjoys a revamped set on-screen.

Those who follow the ITV soap have been given the first look at the new Platt family home after a shocking fire ripped the old property apart earlier this year when Max Turner set fire to the property in a failed insurance job.

The teen carried out a botched plan to help his step-dad with his desperate money troubles as they found themselves targeted by gangster Harvey Gaskell.

After David and Shona discovered what he'd done, they tried to cover for him and planned for Max to do a runner, but he ended up handing himself into the police after his distinctive hoodie that linked him to the fire was found.

He was later sentenced to six and a half years behind bars, but was moved to a prison in Scotland due to Harvey's threats, marking an exit for actor Paddy Bever.

It was later that Audrey agreed to buy the beloved family home, but only if she could move into what was her daughter Gail's annexe, meaning she has moved from her own home on Grasmere Drive after 35 years.

Now, Corrie has given fans a closer look inside the new No.8. Taking to Instagram, those behind the show's social media shared a string of pictures and said: "A peek at some of the details inside a newly refurbished No.8!"

But it's not just No.8 that has been transformed as Jack has given a new look inside his dressing room at the Trafford-based set which is covered in various movie posters.

As he shared a video of his displays on Instagram, fans were quick to respond. @toffu_tofu_vicky said: "Great movies! Love the two girls from The Shining." @silver100a wrote: "Oh wow, Love, Love, Love Jack!"

@hphillz replied: "Looks awesome Jack!" @daveonfilmreviews commented: "This has to be the coolest dressing room in the whole of Corrie." @birdyw1967 shared: "What a display Jack." @brooklyn_marsh2010 added: "That looks so cool."

It comes after Jack previously revealed he turned down a prime spot behind the scenes on the cobbles following co-star Helen Worth's exit.

Jack revealed that Helen's exit opened up a dressing room space meaning one of the show's remaining cast had an upgrade. Speaking about the change on the On The Sofa podcast, Colson Smith explained that there is somewhat of a hierarchy when it comes to being assigned a dressing room, with most stars sharing with at least one other cast member.

"Getting your own dressing room at Corrie is a big, big deal. We’re talking 20 years of service minimum,’ the Craig Tinker actor, who recently announced he's leaving Corrie after 14 years, said.

Jack went on to explain that Helen’s dressing room was located on what cast members refer to as the 'walk of fame', or the 'golden corridor' at the Trafford-based studio. "It’s like a legends section, where you’ve got Bill Roach, Barbara (Knox), Helen (Worth), Dave Neilson, Sally Dynevor, Sue Nicholls, Mike Le Vell," he shared.

They revealed that it was Sam Aston who has now moved into Helen's former dressing room. But Jack said: "They offered it to me", before Jack revealed he declined the offer, telling producers during the call: "I've just decorated my dressing room!" Colson added of Sam, gamed for playing Weatherfield's Chesney Brown: "He's in prime location!"
