'Easy' - Rayan Ait-Nouri's first words as Man City confirm £31.2m transfer
Manchester City new signing Rayan Ait Nouri spoke about joining the club after completing his transfer from Wolves in time for the Club World Cup
Rayan Ait Nouri has become the first signing of a busy summer for Manchester City after sealing a permanent transfer from Wolves. The two clubs have agreed on an initial fee of £31.2m with bonuses taking a total deal up to £36.3m.
Algerian international Ait Nouri becomes the first specialist left-back signed by City since 2019 and is thrilled to be at the Etihad on a five-year deal with room to grow in a squad stacked with talent. He is available for the Club World Cup and is expected to be joined by Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki in a £114m splurge, with reserve goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli also potentially joining this week.
"It was an easy decision. We know the team - they’ve showed in the last few years being the best team in the world," Ait Nouri said on signing.
"The players are amazing and the coach as well. It will be a pleasure to train with Pep Guardiola. I can’t wait. I come here to learn and to show what I can do. I will give my best.
"It was Manchester City from the beginning because I wanted to play for this team. I like how they play. I’m very happy to be here and it’s a big pleasure for me.

The FIFA Club World Cup will see 32 of the world's best club teams including Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich play across 63 games from June 14-July 13.
Fans can watch every match live and for free by signing up to DAZN.
“I’m young and I came here to improve a lot. I need to learn and improve my football for sure - it’s why I chose this big challenge. I know I can improve my football and being in these kind of conditions with this team and this manager, for sure I will improve my football.”
Director of Football Hugo Viana added: “Rayan is a player that as a club we have been following closely for quite some time and we are delighted he has joined us.
"He already has extensive Premier League experience and has also demonstrated his quality at international level with Algeria.
“We feel sure that he will be an excellent addition to our squad and that working alongside Pep and his coaching staff will help develop his game even further. And at just 24 he is someone we feel sure will help us in our objective to bring more success to the club.”
