Jury discharged in trial of mum accused of murdering daughter, 2, as new trial date set
A new trial date has been set for January 13, 2026
Jurors have been discharged in the trial of a mum accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter.
Morsal Mohammed Naim, 30, is charged with the murder of Omra Wali Jan and was on trial at Manchester Crown Court.
The court previously heard that Omra died on February 9, 2024, as a result of head injuries she sustained on November 30, 2023. Prosecutors allege that Ms Naim 'severely shook Omra' resulting in 'catastrophic brain injuries'.

The jury in the trial have since been discharged for legal reasons. On Tuesday, April 8, a new trial date was listed for January 13 2025 and is estimated to last for up to five weeks.
Ms Naim, of no fixed abode, denies murder.
