Popeyes will be getting into the Parklife party spirit this weekend by handing out a whopping 10,000 free snacks to customers at two of its Greater Manchester stores.

The famed American fried chicken chain has been making waves in the country since opening its first UK stores four years ago. Last year, people even queued up for more than 17 hours to get their hands on food from their first Greater Manchester drive-thru.

The Salford drive-thru, on Bury New Road, will be expecting big queues again this weekend as it has been announced to be one of two stores in the city-borough that will be handing out free food between Saturday and Monday.

Joining the popular Piccadilly Gardens store, the two branches will be giving away 10,000 free Cajun Hash Browns between them - but you’ll have to be early to get a chance of securing the goods.

The offer will be running until 10am across each of the three days, but it sounds like it could be well worth the early wake-up call.

Popeyes have said their hash browns are a ‘proper Southern-style breakfast boost’, served hot and crispy with plenty of Popeyes’ signature Cajun spices.

To be able to take part in the offer, people will need to do a few simple steps ahead of turning up to the store. The offer will be open to anyone who has downloaded the Popeyes UK app and registered an account by 11:59pm on Friday (June 13).

Popeyes has said the offer will serve as a perfect wake-up for those heading to Heaton Park for Parklife this weekend, which will feature Charli XCX and 50 Cent amongst some of the biggest names to take to the stage.

Dave Hoskins, head of food at Popeyes UK, said: “We know Parklife is one of the biggest weekends in the Manchester calendar, and being just down the road from the action, we wanted to help festival-goers start their day right.

“Whether you’re fuelling up, recovering or just craving something delicious, our Cajun Hash Browns are the perfect pick-me-up. We can’t wait to hand out 10,000 of them - come early and grab yours before they’re gone.”

If you’re not able to grab a freebie at the weekend, then the Cajun Hash Browns are part of Popeyes breakfast menu - served everyday until 10am. The menu also includes breakfast rolls, muffins, and Nutella-topped buttermilk biscuits.

The Parklife festival will be taking place on Saturday and Sunday, with close to 100,000 people expected to attend across both days. As a result, there has been some urgent travel advice issued ahead of this weekend, whilst information on how to get there by walking or by using shuttle buses has also been shared.

The 10,000 free hash browns will only be available at the Piccadilly Gardens (M1 1RG) and Bury New Road (M7 2YJ) restaurants between Saturday-Monday until 10am.
