Shoppers have been thrilled to see the return of a well-loved chocolatey snack to shop shelves after it has not been for more than ten years.

Maltesers revealed the return of one of their well-loved white chocolate on social media last month, and shoppers have not been able to contain their excitement since.

Maltesers announced on Instagram that they would be bringing back the item, that disappeared from shop shelves over 10 years ago.

The classic treat was first launched in 2003 before sadly being discontinued in 2014. Now shoppers are excited to see their return to shop shelves.

In the post, Maltesers implied that the treat was returning due to high demand, as they wrote: “You asked and we delivered.”

Since the reveal, shoppers have been flocking to social media to express their excitement for the item’s return.

On Instagram, one shopper, Scott Doyle, wrote: “Finally! I’ve been waiting years for these to come back.”

Another, Christopher Lovett, added: “Don’t ever take them away again.”

One eagle-eyed shopper posted the treat to the popular Facebook group NewfoodsUK after spotting the nostalgic treat in Morrisons, and shoppers have been going wild for the return since.

One shopper, Riley Hoskin, admitted: "I've been waiting for years !!" A second, Kathryn Wright, also confessed they had been "craving these for years".

Shopper Danny JJ Ryan reflected: “Oh yes. Loved them first time round.” Another, Elana Kelly, also reminisced: “I was addicted to these when I was in school. Only white chocolate I liked.”

These positive memories of the chocolates were then followed by calls from many shoppers saying that they were excited to pick up the treats for themselves.

Bags of the classic treat can be found on Morrisons shelves or on the store's website for £2.50.
