TikTok nan Norma dies as 'heartbroken' celebs and soap stars pay tribute

TikTok's 'perfect' nan Norma has been remembered by award-winning singer and actor Alfie Boe, as well as stars from Coronation Street and Emmerdale following her death.
Norma rose to fame on social media through comedy videos alongside granddaughter Jess, with the pair amassing over 2.6 million followers on TikTok and a further 790k Instagram followers.
Known for documenting their day to day life, Norma and Jess were preparing for the launch of their book 'A lifetime of laughter and our unbreakable bond' next month.
Sadly, the family announced on Monday (June 9), that Norma had passed away on Thursday, June 5, at the age of 91.
Confirming her death, a post on Jess and Norma's Instagram account read: “05/06/2025 the day our family lost our rock, our everything, our beautiful, precious, perfect lady. We are all truly devastated and our lives will never be the same.
"We want you all to know that Nan fell to sleep peacefully, surrounded by all her family, she was full of love and had the most beautiful care.
"If anyone deserves a place in heaven, it’s you Nanny Norma. Social media and our community online made Nan’s last years so incredibly special, her cup was full and in her own words she ‘lived such a wonderful life’.”
The post concluded: "91 years was never going to be enough and she has left the biggest hole in all of our hearts. Reunited with her husband and family, until we meet again, our queen."
Leading the tributes to Norma, who lived in Retford in Nottinghamshire, was Lancashire native Alfie Boe, with the 51-year-old sharing a picture of Nora wearing a tiara.
“My Dear Norma, you brought so much happiness to many people and joy to this crazy world.
“It was such an honour to have been in your presence, and to have shared stories, songs and laughter. God bless you Norma.
“You will be greatly missed. I shed a tear today but will always hold dear to my heart the love you brought to me and all who met you. Rest In Peace dear Norma. @jessandnorma,” he wrote.
Famous faces from all walks of life took to the comments section of Norma’s death announcement to pay their respects and send their sympathies to her family.
Molly-Mae Hague said: “This has shattered my heart. Rest In paradise Norma. One special lady.”
Coronation Street actor Daniel Brocklebank added: “I’m so very sad to read this. What utter joy you both brought so many people. I feel privileged to have met you all. Sending you all love and best wishes at this time.”
Sarah Platt actress Tina O’Brien wrote: “Oh Jess, I’m so sorry, Norma brought so much love and happiness to everyone. I can’t imagine how you all must be feeling. Sending you and your family so much love and strength and thinking of you lots.”
Bethany Platt’s Lucy Fallon posted: "Oh Jess, I am absolutely heartbroken for you all. She was a gorgeous lady and it was a privilege to meet you both. Sending you lots of love."
Emmerdale’s official account commented: “We are so so sorry to read this. Norma was such a shining star who brought so much joy and happiness to so many people. Sending love to all of the family."
Hollyoaks’ Gemma Merna stated: “Sending so much love to all your family, I am so sorry. Norma was so special and brightened up my days watching your videos, thank you for that.”
