A woman has been found dead at a house in Oldham.

It happened at an address on Manchester Road, near Werneth Park, around 8pm on Wednesday night (June 4).

A large number of fire crews along with police and paramedics were spotted at the scene.

The Manchester Evening News understands police received a report regarding a concern for a woman's welfare.

Emergency services including three fire engines responded.

A woman in her 20s was sadly declared dead at the scene, a Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesperson said.

A force statement read: "At around 8pm on Wednesday 4 June, we were called to an address on Manchester Road, Oldham.

"Emergency services attended and sadly, a woman in her 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death."
